A beautiful place near San Francisco just over the Golden Gate Bridge. We had a day out there with Dominic.

I always look forward to my first time going over the Golden Gate Bridge when we reach San Francisco. Years ago we were lucky to be flown through the towers in a small plan. We’ve sailed under it, driven over it but never walked or cycled it – next time. As is often the case it was partially covered in the vog that SF is so well known for.

I find the woods to be a magical place to be. The redwoods are the tallest trees on earth and it feels very primeval. The forest has been declared a U.S. National Monument since 1908. It is great to see it so appreciated and well managed.

I was fascinated by this very intricately and finely woven spider web.

We followed up our visit to the woods with lunch in and old pub nearby.

A great day out.
